A virtual wallet designed to make budgeting simpler and familiar for students. One account with unlimited virtual cards for different spending categories help the users take control over their finances by preventing overspending, tracking expenses, and avoiding fraud. 

PERSONAS

With our research and insights, we created several personas - all students with different needs and goals. It was important for us to understand who we were designing for by identifying the person's goals and behaviors to ensure that we would design interfaces suited for them.

DESIGN PROCESS

Storyboards helped us to visualize the users and how they would interact with the app. After concept validation sessions, the team decided to refine the idea that better encompassed the design goals. The story boards focused on several categories for the virtual cards: budget control, tracking expenses, contextually aware notifications, saving plans, and avoiding fraud. 

Our refined storyboards showing budget control/tracking expenses and receiving contextually aware notifications were well received by the users. With our ideas validated, we moved onto our next phase - designing the interface for our mobile application, Prism.

CLICKTHROUGH PROTOTYPES

We delivered two clickthrough prototypes (one for mobile and one for the smartwatch) that show different features of the application. The mobile prototype shows the navigation for onboarding screens, card screens, adding new cards, and finance overview. The smartwatch prototype shows how notification would work.
